Emily Johansson

Senior Program Officer

Emily works with foundations focused on early childhood literacy, food security, and support for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She’s energized by the variety of her clients and by meeting so many people doing valuable work in their communities.

Emily joined PFS in 2013 with deep experience in annual and major gift funding, corporate sponsorships, grant writing, special events, and board management. She led fundraising as the development officer for Face to Face AIDS Network and served as the community development director at the Arthritis Foundation. Before that, she was the program manager at Net Impact, a nonprofit that helps students and professionals use their careers to drive social and environmental change.

Emily received her BA in international relations and French from Claremont McKenna College. Emily lives in San Francisco with her husband, and enjoys traveling to new places, reading a good book, cooking with ingredients from the weekly CSA box, and completing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle.
