Shawna Hamilton

Program Officer

Shawna is energized by collaborating with families and grantees to activate their goals. Prior to joining PFS in 2013, Shawna worked at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation as both a development associate, and a Giving Counselor placed within Cisco Systems’ CSR team. While at Cisco, Shawna advised employees and grant seekers on opportunities to engage within the social sector, and managed the global Habitat for Humanity program. Early in her career, Shawna worked for a hedge fund in New York City, and led strategy and operations for Seeds of Africa Foundation—an education focused nonprofit in Ethiopia.

Shawna received her MA in nonprofit management from the Milano School for International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy at The New School, and her BA in international business from California State University, Northridge. Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, she loves most beach activities, dancing, and spending time with her dog, Niña.
