Senior Foundation Staff

Jessi joined PFS is 2009 as a Program Coordinator. She became a Program Officer and began managing the firm’s communication efforts in 2012 and in 2016, augmented her role as Senior Foundation Staff. She provides program support to multiple client foundations, representing a range of grantmaking focuses, with specialized interest in K-12 arts education, social entrepreneurship and workforce development. Prior to her work in philanthropy, Jessi spent seven years in the nonprofit sector, working in both programming and development for youth-serving organizations, and two years in advertising and brand design.

Her experience ranges from helping launch and develop curriculum for small organizations like Open Roads, a Seattle-based experiential education and arts organization targeting disadvantaged youth, to supporting the fundraising efforts of leading youth development agencies with national reach, including the Boys & Girls Clubs and Summer Search. She relocated to San Francisco in 2006 for an internship with the nonprofit, 826 Valencia. A proud Midwest transplant, Jessi left her heart in Minneapolis, where she was born, raised, and earned her Bachelors from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. She also holds a certificate in Nonfiction Writing from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine. She lives in El Cerrito, CA with her husband, Matt, and their two sons, Ian and Micah.
