A. We work hard to make grantmaking more enjoyable and less uncertain for our clients. PFS program officers have many years of experience working directly with a wide range of giving interests including youth development and education, the arts, environmental issues, animal welfare, alleviation of homelessness, and other notable causes. From initial research to distribution of grants, our clients receive quick and personal attention throughout every stage of the grantmaking process.

Q. “Will PFS also do the back office work?”
A. Yes. PFS manages all of the important administrative work to keep foundations running smoothly, which allows our clients to focus on supporting the causes they care about. Our professional staff will handle the filing and database management, phone calls, grant letters, denials and other correspondence, grant checks, bookkeeping, and more.

Q. “We’re not a family foundation. Will PFS work with other types of foundations?”
A. Yes. Regardless of their particular form, all private foundations, including corporate foundations, are governed by the same rules and share a common organizational structure. Where private foundations do reveal major differences is in their remarkable diversity of goals and objectives.

A. Yes. Organizing and defining your new foundation properly is essential. We’re happy to answer your questions. If desired, PFS will provide consulting services on a short-term basis to help guide you through the start-up process.

A. No. To avoid potential conflicts of interest, PFS does not manage money. Instead, we assist donors in finding qualified professionals to match their specific requirements.
