Our PFS team is saddened to share the news that Bill Bowes, the President and Founder of the William K. Bowes, Jr. Foundation and a client of Pacific Foundation Services, passed away on December 28, 2016. We have heard from many of his grantees with whom he had worked closely. One executive director wrote about “Bill’s fundamental nature: generosity and kindness.” He went on to say, “He was very strategic with his giving, funding people in the ‘trough of sorrow’ as he called it, when he knew his resources would be most impactful in helping change our world.”

It was an honor to work with such a generous and thoughtful man, and it is inspiring to see the impact that he made during his life. We encourage you to check out the San Francisco Chronicle’s obituary for further details about Bill’s full and inspiring life. A public memorial service will be held at the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco on February 6th, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.
