Grantmaking Guidelines

Bella Vista Foundation has two main focus areas. Please click on the links below for the guidelines for each focus area.

1) Early Childhood

2) Ecosystem Restoration

(In addition to the focus areas above, from time to time, the board may make Discretionary Grants, however unsolicited letters of inquiry or proposals are not accepted.)

Please watch this website for further changes in the guidelines for each focus area!

Process Evaluation

In June 2007, the Bella Vista Foundation completed its first independent process evaluation, which was conducted by consultant Rachel Lanzerotti, MSW.

Seventy organizations took the time to respond to the online survey about the Bella Vista Foundation’s grantmaking processes. The responses affirmed many aspects of the Foundation’s work and also suggested areas in which the Foundation might improve.

Please click here to read the Executive Summary. The full report on survey findings is available from the Bella Vista Foundation upon request (contact Hector Melendez at 415 561-6540 x 206 or hmelendez@pfs-llc.net).
